Robert James Jim Peterman

Robert James "Jim" Peterman, 88, of Findlay, passed away on June 15, 2022 at Fox Run Manor in Findlay after a lengthy battle with Parkinson and dementia. He was born October 14, 1933 in Findlay to the late Harry R. Peterman and Maxine M. (McVoy) Hammer. Since the age of 5, he was lovingly raised by foster parents Clarence and Ogilva Whitmer in McComb, Ohio.

Jim married Mildred A Willford on February 14, 1959 and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2021. Jim is survived by his sons, Carl (Shelly) Peterman and David Peterman, both of Findlay, his two grandchildren, Amanda Peterman and Jeffery James "JJ" (Morgan) Peterman, his great granddaughter, Oakley Eve Peterman, his brother, Melvin (Carolyn) Peterman, and his nephews, Michael and Patrick Peterman. He is preceded in death by his two infant brothers, Teddy and Tommy Peterman, his half brothers, Ralph Hammer Jr. and Larry Covrett, and half sister Jeannine Hammer.

Jim graduated from McComb High School in 1951 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he reached the rank of Staff Sergeant while serving from 1953 - 1957. He retired from Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. in 1990 after 33 years of service. Jim was a life member of Amvets Post 21, a past member of Cooper Charter Bowling League & Golf League, and Tiffin Retirees Golf League (Seneca Hills). Jim enjoyed rides around the lake to see the lighthouses and was an avid tinkerer extraordinaire, but his grandchildren were the "apple of his eye".

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home with Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm.
