Robert Long Obituary
Robert Gene "Bob" Long Jr. passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, in Bedford, Texas, after a brief illness.
Bob was born Aug. 16, 1953, in Findlay, to Virginia J. (Van Vorce) and Robert Gene Long Sr. Bob graduated from Findlay High School on 1972. He married Laurie Fulton in 1972 and they later divorced.
Bob is survived by his son, Rob (Melissa) Hickert; sister, Cynthia (Ronald) Leever; brothers, Michael (Donna), Dale (Darlene), James (Jolynn), and Jeffery (Lisa); three grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; five great-grandchildren; nine nieces; and five nephews.
Bob retired from American Airlines earlier this year after over 40 years with the company. He loved to travel and was a generous, thoughtful man. He loved to shop and it was not unusual for him to surprise relatives with gifts delivered to their homes. When Bob would come back to Ohio to visit, he most enjoyed movie nights with the family. He will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
There will be no services at the request of the family.

To everyone, sorry for your loss. Met Bob when he transferred to San Diego approx 1988. Enjoyed working with him and shared many laughs and episodes of The Wheel of Fortune when working afternoon shifts. He did a great job as our Avionics crew chief and straightening up after the guys. Thanks for the memories.

About a decade ago when Bobby was ill I took my wife and daughter to visit him. As I kind of expected his home was in show-room condition. My daughter was 5 and I was scared to death she was going to break something. He had a bunch of stuffed animals, some from various movies. She grabbed the Pink Panther one and finally settled down. Despite my protestations, Bobby made sure when we left that she took that Pink Panther with her. I´ve never forgotten that. We were sad to see him retire. He was a fixture on afternoons at D term. We miss you Bob Long. See you on the other side.
