Robert Calmes Obituary
Robert T. "Bob" Calmes, 62, of Fostoria, passed away at 2:02 a.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023, at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania.
He was born Sept. 24, 1960, in Fostoria, to Gerald N. and Kay L. (Stoddard) Calmes. His father preceded him in death in 1994 and his mother survives in Fostoria.
Bob is also survived by his son, Justin M. Calmes and his fiancé, Mikule Walsh, of Emlenton, Pennsylvania; brothers, Craig L. Calmes of Continental and Michael L. (Nancy) Calmes of Fostoria; sisters, Kathleen A. (Marc) Maurer of Mesa, Colorado, and Lynn A. Calmes of Tampa, Florida; and eight nieces and nephews.
Bob was a 1979 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School. He worked at GVS in Findlay for over 20 years and also managed the Columbus Village Apartment complex the past 23 years.
Bob was a worker. He just never would sit still, whether it was lawn care, enjoying the outdoors, or handyman projects. It was very difficult for Bob these last few months battling lung cancer. He always was trying to help others before himself.
Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830.
Bob's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Very Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery. A funeral lunch will then take place at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
