Ray Herman Thompson

Ray Herman Thompson, 80, of Findlay, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at his residence.

He was born July 9, 1943, in Findlay, to Ray E. and Ruth E. (Huber) Thompson. He married Karen Knepper and they divorced. He then married Cheryl Harris on March 13, 1992, and she survives.

Ray retired as a lineman with Gilbert and Company. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed camping and fishing at Lake Cumberland, Kentucky.

In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Mike) Thompson and Tracy (Adam) Paxton; grandchildren, Joshua Thompson, Jonathon (Hannah) Sorrell, Cody Paxton, Adam Paxton, Levi Paxton, and Kristen Paxton; great-grandchildren, Kahli Thompson, Henry Sorrell, Mya Vermillion, Amelia Paxton, and Alex Klotz; and sister, Nancy Findley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wive; son, Todd Thompson; and sister, Cheryl Bowers.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay. Ray's funeral will be private. Burial will be at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
