Preston Burnside Obituary
Preston Warren Burnside, 83, of rural Tiffin, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at Mercy Health in Tiffin.
Preston was born Jan. 23, 1939, in Tiffin, to the late Warren and Edith (Helle) Burnside.
Preston's srvivors include his brother, Gerald (Eileen) Burnside of Tiffin; two sisters, Virginia (Robert) Sherman of Tiffin and Sharon Burnside of Tiffin; sister-in-law, Janice Burnside of Tiffin; nieces and nephews, Debra (Jeff) Garber, Susan (Mike) Tyrpak, Phillip (Tina) Burnside, David (Nilda) Burnside, Daniel (Judi) Sherman, Rebecca Clouse, and Duane (Jennifer) Burnside; great-nieces and great-nephews, Raeanna Garber, Cory Welter, Eric Welter, Stephanie Burnside, Kaleb (KaLee) Sherman, Kaitlin Sherman, Kenadie Sherman, James Clouse, Elizabeth Clouse, Gracie Clouse, Ava Clouse, Hannah Burnside, and Douglas Burnside; and great-great-nieces, Kylee Welter and Adrianna Welter.
Preston was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Richard Allen Burnside, Willis Burnside, and Edward Burnside; two sisters, Annabelle Burnside and Carolyn Burnside; and sister-in-law, Ruth Burnside.
Preston was a 1958 graduate of McCutchenville High School and 50-year member of Eden Grange. He drove milk truck in his earlier years and worked for National Machinery in Tiffin. Preston enjoyed his train collection, bowling, and playing dart ball in the Tiffin church dart ball league and the Grange dart ball league.
Preston's funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, at Trinity United Church of Christ with Pastor Karsten Snitker officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin, is assisting family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ or to the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.shookfamilyfh.com.
