Paul Wonder

Paul W. Wonder, 90, a lifelong resident of Carey, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.

Paul was born November 1, 1934, in Carey to the late Wesley and Olive (Robison) Wonder. He married Doris Updegraff on August 8, 1954, and they were married for 70 years. Paul is also survived by children, Jeffrey (Teresa) Wonder of Carey and Beth Wonder of Northfield; and grandchildren, Lauren Hendricks, Slade Wonder, and Levi Wonder.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Kitzler and Doyce Wonder.

Paul was graduate of Carey High School. Paul was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Paul was a great businessman. He was the former director of Peoples Bank in Carey and was also a realtor and broker. Paul was a third-generation farmer who loved being in the fields and following his crops. Paul enjoyed auto racing, especially his go-karts. He also enjoyed horse racing and playing a good round of golf.

Graveside Service in Paul's honor will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.

Arrangements have been entrusted with Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul's honor to Bridge Hospice or Dorcas Carey Library.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Bridge Hospice for the compassionate care they showed Paul in his final days.
