Orland Cameron Obituary
Orland Lee Cameron, 87, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 7, 1937, in Findlay to the late Oakland and Delight (Pepple) Cameron. He married Jeanette Rose (McDonald) Cameron on Feb. 27, 1954 and she survives. They were married for over 70 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Dirk (Connie) Cameron, of Findlay and Rodney (Kamie) Cameron, of Grantville, Georgia; a daughter, Sharon (Lonnie) Lovell of Findlay; grandchildren, Michelle (Paul) Crowder of Findlay, Renee (Chad) Jones of Galloway, Nicholas (Kristen) Cameron of Grantville, Georgia, Holly Cameron of Findlay and Patrick Cameron of Sandusky; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Delbert Cameron; sister, Maeann Stevens; and son, Steven Cameron.
Mr. Cameron retired in 1997 from Cooper Tire and Rubber Co.. He was a graduate of Findlay High School and a member of First United Church of Christ, Findlay.
He was also a member of Findlay Masonic Lodge No. 227, Findlay Council No. 50, Findlay Chapter No. 58, Findlay Commandery No. 049, Scottish Rite of Valley of Toledo, Zenobia Temple of Toledo, Findlay Shrine Club and Hancock County Scottish Rite Association.
Visitation for Orland will be 4-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, followed by a Masonic Service at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky St., Findlay, Ohio, 45840. Additional visitation will be 12-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, until the time of a funeral service at the funeral home, with The Rev. Eric Rummel officiating. Burial will follow at Keller Cemetery, north of Jenera.
Contributions in Orland's name may be shared with Shriners Hospitals for Children or First United Church of Christ, Findlay.

Dear Jeanette-
Just a note to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you and your family. We were childhood friends for a long time and I have so many good memories. Bless you Jeanette in your loss of Orland. I'm praying for you and your family.

My Uncle was one of a kind. He married my Aunt when I was 11 years old. He and my Aunt had a wonderful life together. My Aunt enjoyed when Orland went fishing for a week that meant she could fix easy meals for her and the kids, i.e. hot dogs, etc. My heart goes out to their children and their families. Love you all.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Orland´s passing; I heard this morning from my Aunt Nancy Weakly, my dad Devere Line´s sister, both Orland´s cousins, and we chatted for a long time about our extended family. Steve and I were in boy scouts together, and had stayed in touch in recent years, often connecting so I could get some of my Vermont maple syrup to him!
I attended Orland´s sister Maeann´s funeral in New Hampshire, in 2009, which was held only a couple hours from where I live in Vermont, as my mom and dad could not make it to the service.
I arrived, not knowing anyone, and as the service was about to begin, Orland and Jeanette came walking up the aisle, and Orland happened to glance in my direction, stopped, and said loudly, "What are YOU doing here???"
People laughed, and we all had a good visit at the church.
I had numerous great visits with Orland and Jeannette when I made it to Findlay, I will miss him very much~
