Norman J. Kinn

Norman J. Kinn, 89, of Tiffin, passed away at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

Norman was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Tiffin, to Henry and Victoria (Pahl) Kinn. He married Jacqueline Sue (Shartzer) on June 21, 1974, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and she preceded him in death April 11, 2019.

Norman's survivors include his children, Michael S. Porter of Tiffin, Derek S. Porter of Tiffin, Kimberly Stump of Bettsville, Brett (Katherine) Porter Dublin, Bruce (Carla) Porter of Tiffin, Barry Porter of Toledo, and Jackie (Brian) Makowski of Findlay; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Norman retired from Webster Manufacturing. Norman was an U.S. Army and Marines veteran, serving during Korea and also received many service medals during his service time. He was a member of VFW, Am-Vets, Tiffin Moose Lodge, and American Legion, and also enjoyed camping, gambling, and going fishing.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Norman "Joey" Kinn Jr.; daughter, Kelli Shaw; five brothers, Raymond, Cletus, Gerald, Edmund "Ted," and Vernon Kinn; infant brother, Herman Kinn; sisters, Martha Smith and Rita Reinhart; and two infant sisters, Mary Magdelene and Mary Catherine.

Norman's funeral will be 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will be 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow services Friday at Seneca Memory Gardens with military honors being rendered by United Veterans Council.

Memorial contributions may be made to United Veterans Council.
