Nathan Hohman Obituary

Nathan "Nate" Stearns Hohman

Nathan "Nate" Stearns Hohman, 52, of Findlay, passed away at 12:24 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023.

He was born July 29, 1970, in Springfield, Ohio, to Merle and Diane (Durholt) Hohman. He married his high school sweetheart, Jenny Benedict, on June 26, 1993, and she survives.

Nate is also survived by his mother, Diane (Ken Gipe) Hohman; beloved daughters, Jaclynn Hohman, Paige (Marcus) Brand, Blaire Morgan Hohman, and Carmen Hohman; brothers, Derek (DiAnna) Hohman and Jared Hohman; and sister, Mya (Mike Gibson) Hohman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Hohman; son, Lucas Merle Stearns Hohman; and sister-in-law, Jenelle Hohman.

Nate was a 1989 graduate of Arcadia High School. Already a life-long Buckeye, he graduated from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 1995. During his time in Columbus, he was a member of The Ohio State Men's Glee Club and his love of singing remained with him all his days. He was the co-owner of Shop Supply Service with his brothers, a family business started by their father. Nate took joy in calling on his customers, some of which had been with the business for 49 years. His work ethic allowed him to also continue to learn and serve others during his 28 years as a pharmacist, currently at Great Scot Pharmacy.

Nate always created the opportunity for new memories. He was the first to say yes to a snowmobiling trip "Up North," to get the boat ready for a day out on Lake Erie with his five girls, or run off to Mexico with his Jenny. After the doctor told him he shouldn't run anymore, Nate signed up for five marathons and ran them all with a smile.

He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to anyone he came across.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, downtown (West Main Cross). Burial will be at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Findlay.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. All contributions will be used to establish the Nathan S. Hohman Memorial Scholarship Fund at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy.

Dear Jenny, our beautiful daughters, and all your wonderful family,
Since learning of your devastating loss Sat. a.m., I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts, prayers, and my . I can't imagine your shock, pain and grief.
As Diane's longtime Lakeside friend and renter, I've grown to love your amazing family, and Nate was especially dear to me. I talked with him often when he visited, usually in his bike or walking your dogs. You've been blessed with such a living, attentive, caring industrious, fun-loving person. I'm so grateful that he touched my life.
Thankfully, as believers, we trust that eventually, we'll all be together with Nate and our Savior Jesus Christ. No more pain, tears, or troubles! Till then, I pray that God will bless you and meet all your needs.
