Nancy Bealle Obituary

Nancy S. Bealle

Nancy Sue Bealle, 87, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. She was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee, to Paul and Agnes (Bateman) Shatley on January 27, 1938.

On December 19, 1959, the Reverand Ivan Odor (go ahead and say the name out loud) married Nancy and John W. Bealle. He preceded her in death in 2013.

Nancy graduated from Elizabethton High School, where she was class valedictorian. She then attended East Tennessee State University and remained on the dean's list. She was baptized October 31, 1951, at Borderview Christian Church, where she played piano and the organ. Nancy was a beauty queen, a third-grade teacher, and a Bible study teacher at her church. She loved to travel with her beloved husband and was his caretaker.

Nancy was very active with Alpha Alternative Pregnancy Center and fostered two babies, one being adopted into her own family. Nancy made the best Kentucky burgoo! But above all, Nancy was the most loving mother and grandmother.

Nancy is survived by her two children, Rebekah (Keith) Starr of Grand Rapids and David (Amy) Bealle of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Katelyn Maye Starr, Ava Grace Starr, Michael David (Bri) Faber, Alyson Kaye Starr (John DeMuth), Emily Starr, Elizabeth (John) Colby, Kathryn (Will) Thweat, Benjamin (Lauren) Bealle, and Jacob Bealle; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Jessie (Darryle) Milhorn and Paula (Al) Williams; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great friends and neighbors, including her best friend, Ann.

In addition to her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

Nancy always wanted to be a wife and mother and would say she wanted a dozen kids. When her son David was born, John brought her 11 yellow roses, her favorite. The card read "1 down 11 to go." Eight years passed before Rebekah was born, her "last one." Dave has four children and Beck has five, which brings her family back to 11. As a special tribute to Nancy, her family will place 11 of the biggest yellow roses upon her final resting place.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be at a later date. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve Nancy's family.
