Michael Hiller Obituary

Michael L. Hiller

Michael L. Hiller, 74, of Largo, Florida, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 21, 2024. He was born January 8, 1950, in Columbus. Mike was known for his generous spirit, unwavering kindness, and deep commitment to helping others. His love for life and selfless dedication to those in need touched countless hearts and left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Ashley Hiller; his stepson, Joey Wade (Leah); his stepdaughter, Jill Ackermann; and his brother, Robert Patrick Hiller (Debra).

He was preceded in death by his loving parents and the love of his life, his wife, Liz.

Mike was a proud graduate of Ohio State University and served his country honorably as a Navy veteran. However, his greatest passion in life was giving back. He dedicated much of his time to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) in Columbus, Findlay, and Largo, Florida, where he found purpose in guiding and supporting others on their journeys to recovery. His compassion, wisdom, and steady presence were a beacon of hope for many.

Mike's absence leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. While there are no public services planned in Ohio at this time, those who wish to honor his memory may do so by making a donation to their local AA group, continuing his legacy of service and support.

Mike lived his life with an open heart, a helping hand, and an infectious love for others. His kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.

"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another." - Charles Dickens

Mike is missed. How appropriate that he passed on his beloved wife Liz´s 70th birthday joined in Heaven. I´m so grateful they are together again. It takes a special person to go through supporting their loved one as cancer takes them slowly away. Mike stood by with honor. I´m grateful his passing was more merciful. Love, the Pypers
