Melva Schmitz Obituary
Melva Diane Schmitz, 86, of rural Carey, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Diane was born May 27, 1938, in Carey, to Melvin and Esther (Tanner) Hotelling. She was a 1956 graduate of Carey High School. She married Robert W. Schmitz on Oct. 1, 1960, and he preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2017.
Diane is survived by her brother, Ed Hotelling of Carey; children, Eric J. Schmitz of rural Carey and and Stephanie Schmitz-Zimmerman (Scot) of rural Carey; five grandchildren, Adam, Nicholas, Cody Schmitz, Olivia, and Hannah Zimmerman; and two great-grandchildren, Izabel and Grady.
Diane's Christian burial will be private at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Frenchtown.
Memorial contributions can be made to Carey OLC School in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home, P.O. Box 350, Sycamore, Ohio, 44882.
