Maxine Swartz Obituary

Maxine R. Swartz

Maxine R. Swartz, 96, of Findlay and formerly of North Baltimore, died at 10:31 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. She was born January 28, 1929, in Hancock County to the late Roy and Dorothy (Thom) Houk. She married Eugene Swartz, April 9, 1948, and he preceded her in death.

Maxine is survived by her son, Kevin (Barbara-deceased) Swartz of Overland Park, Kansas; daughters, Deanna (Jim-deceased) LaRue of Federal Heights, Colorado, and Nancy Swartz of Findlay; daughter-in-law, Deb Swartz of New Albany; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Mike Swartz and a brother, Richard Houk.

Maxine was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Findlay, and North Baltimore American Legion Auxiliary Post 539. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Funeral service will begin at noon Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be from 10 a.m. - noon prior to service. Burial will be at New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to North Baltimore American Legion Post 539 and/or Bridge Home Health and Hospice, Findlay.

We loved Maxine! i have such fond memories eating Wilsons with her, and chatting with her about her upbringing. She was always so sweet. I am so thankful she met Brodie!
