Mary A. Watson

Mary A. Watson, 86, of rural Wharton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

Mary was born July 26, 1937, in Hancock County, to Russell R. and Pauline M. (Liles) Shane. She married James O. Watson on June 22, 1956, at Wharton First Church of God.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Teresa L. (Robert) Mason of rural Carey; daughter-in-law, Brenda Watson of Findlay; four grandchildren, Matthew Mason, Nicole (Justin) Deems, Tamara (Rob) Ardrey, and Tina Watson; six great-grandchildren, Austyn, Harper, Adilynn, Landon, Stefan, and Ryker; siblings, Daniel (Kathy) Shane of Vanlue, Sharon (William) Feasel Sr. of Findlay, Ruth (Charlie) Combs of Lexington, Kentucky, and Richard Liles of Michigan City, Indiana; and brother in-law, Ron Pahl of Carey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-granddaughter, Lydia Ardrey; son, James A. Watson; siblings, Gabriel Shane and Joan Pahl; and sister-in-law, Bev Shane.

Mary loved her life as a housewife and grandma. Family meant the world to her. She was also a woman of faith and was a member of Wharton First Church of God for 68 years.

Visitation for friends will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, until the time of Mary's funeral at 2:30 p.m. at Wharton First Church of God with the Rev. Edward Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Wharton-Richland Union Cemetery, Wharton.

Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, is honored to serve Mary's family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wharton First Church of God and sent to the funeral home.
