Mary Seitz Obituary
Mary L. Seitz, 90, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at her home surrounded by her children.
Mary was born Jan. 27, 1933, in Sandusky, to Alfred "Red" and Esther (Toft) Riedy, who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Joseph L. Seitz, who she first met while working as a carhop at a root beer stand in Sandusky where Joe was a customer. It was love at first sight, which led to them being married May 30, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky. After 66 years of marriage, Joe passed away Feb. 21, 2018.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Doug) Lehman of Upper Sandusky, Steve (Sue) Seitz of Upper Sandusky, Dave (Jill) Seitz of Findlay, Mary Jo (Tom) Runfola of Sarasota, Michelle Seitz of Upper Sandusky, and Sandra Kin of Hilliard; nine grandchildren, Nathan (Carree) Lehman, Matthew (Tegan) Lehman, Andrew (Emily) Lehman, Dan (Nicole) Seitz, Cory (Miranda) Seitz, Michael (Deborah) Seitz, Emily Seitz, Aaron (Ashley) Seitz, and Adam Seitz; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mary's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, at Community Christian Center, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, at Lucas Batton Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Christian Center or Bethel Ministries and can be sent to Lucas Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
