Mary Ellen Rader

Mary Ellen Rader, 90 of Findlay passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. She was born in Hancock County on September 6, 1931 to the late J. Orville and Mary (Buchanan) Slaughterbeck. She married Clyde W. Rader in 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1986. Mrs. Rader was a 1949 graduate of Van Buren High School. She earned her Bachelor's in Education from the University of Findlay and was the Director of Carden Basic School. Mary Ellen was a member of the McComb First Presbyterian Church and a Life Member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to bake and was known as the McComb Cake Baker. Surviving are two children; Joe (Rebecca) Rader of Findlay and Jill (Keith) Hendricks of Vanlue, five grandchildren; Amy (Stacey) Schubert, Stacey Corso, Ellie (Austin) Force, Emily (Brad) Hudson and Ted Rader and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters; Linda and Patricia Rader, three brothers; Jim, John and David Slaughterbeck and four sisters; Ruth Snively, Carmen Waggoner, Ada Newman and Alice Kitchen. There will be no services at Mary's request and burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay. Arrangements have been entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
