Mary Kagey Obituary

Mary Louise Kagey

Mary Louise Kagey, 89, of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025.

She was born July 10, 1936, in Leipsic, to Don and Lavaughn Casteel. She graduated from Leipsic High School in 1954. She attended Bowling Green State University before starting her career in accounting.

She married John Reed Kagey, November 22, 1963, in St. Louis, Missouri. She worked for McDonnell Aircraft before retiring to be a full-time domestic engineer.

Mary loved spending time with family, camping, reading, bowling, and crafts.

After retiring, John and Mary moved from Overland, Missouri, to Terre Du Lac, Missouri, where they enjoyed their lakeside home.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Blevins (Brad) of Roy, Utah and Michelle Lahiri (Samir) of Chesterfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Justin (Rebecca) of Corinne, Utah, Ian (Sylvia) of Westminster, Colorado, and Meena (Caleb) of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and her brother, John (Nancy) Casteel of Leipsic.

Mary's family wants to extend their gratitude to BJC Hospice, Eveyln's House, and all the amazing nurses and helpers.

A memorial service will take place graveside at the cemetery in Leipsic, at a future date.
