Mary Lynn Corbin
Mary Lynn McClelland Corbin, 92, of Findlay, passed peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, Sept. 23, 2022.
Mary Lynn was born July 25, 1930, in Toledo, to the late Lynn and Gladys McClelland. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Richard "Dick" Corbin. She met Dick at Findlay High School when he wooed her into doing his homework after breaking his arm. They were married June 20, 1954. Three sons completed their family, Bruce (Annie) of Indialantic, Florida, Doug (Tami) of Findlay, and Jeff (Barbie) of Findlay. She dearly loved her four grandchildren, Lauren (Greg) Corbin Moser of Findlay, Ryan (Amanda) Corbin of Van Buren, Kyle (Kymberly) Corbin of Vista, California, and Molly (Collin) Corbin Fenimore of Findlay; and four stepgrandchildren, Esmeralda Sanchez of Florida, Harold Hojilla currently stationed in South Korea, Haley (Shawn) Bakies Burgderfer of West Jefferson, Ohio, and Eric Bakies of Columbus, Ohio. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Braelynn and Harper Moser, Monti and Corbin Fenimore, and Ellie Burgderfer, and Baby Boy Corbin arriving soon in California.
Mary Lynn is also survived by her brother, Michael (Ann) McClelland of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Corbin of Findlay; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kay McClelland; sister-in-law, Rita Corbin Wright; and brother-in-law, Larry Corbin. Mary Lynn dearly loved her sweet neighbors.
Both Mary Lynn and Dick graduated from Findlay High School with the class of 1948. Mary Lynn went on to earn her merchandising degree at The Ohio State University. While in college, she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. For over 20 years, Mary Lynn shared her love of painting when she welcomed customers into her craft store, LynCraft. Christmas trees around the globe are joyfully adorned, each year, with LynCraft ornaments that originally cost $.50 but, as recently stated, "they are priceless."
Mary Lynn was a lifelong member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Findlay. She was a long-time member and past officer of Altrusa International. She belonged to The Ohio Arts and Crafts Guild. She was a devout member and volunteer at Hancock Historical Museum. For several years, Mary Lynn tutored students at Van Buren Elementary School where she was known as "Grandma Corbin."
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME, 500 Lima Ave., Findlay. Mary Lynn's funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at the funeral home with the Rev. Cathy Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
