Marvin Lee

Marvin Lee, 86, of Findlay, died at 11:33 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Findlay.

He was born Aug. 31, 1937, in Vanlue, to Clyde and Helen (Daniels) Lee. He married Elaine Dible and they divorced. In Feb., 1996, he married Vivian Umbs and they were married for 27 years prior to her death Dec. 14, 2023.

Marvin is survived by his daughter, Brenda Collet of Greenwood, Indiana; son, Douglas (Toni) Lee of Findlay; stepsons, Michael (Sheila) Umbs and Joseph (Mary) Umbs, both of Findlay; grandchildren, Aaron Lee, Derrick (Corinne) Lee, Amanda Lee, Spencer (Alexandra) Lee, Dillon Collet, Shane (Lauren) Collet, Sonja (Brandon) Daniels, Gabrielle (Andrew) Peterson, Mikaela (Jacob) Collins, Moriah (Roderick) Bowdle, Grant Umbs, Kyle (Erin) Umbs, and Cody Umbs; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Raymond Lee; stepson, Phillip Umbs; and son-in-law, Robert Collet.

He was a 1955 graduate of Vanlue High School and attended classes at Findlay College and University of Michigan in business administration. He grew up with a true love for farming, having worked on the family farm into his later years.

He started working at National Lime and Stone in 1956, spending most of his time in the Sales Department, which he truly loved. He served as President of Ohio Processed Limestone Association from 1982-1983 and President of National Processed Limestone Association from 1988-1990. He retired from National Lime and Stone in 2006 after 50 years of service. He always enjoyed the annual company nnual picnic and attended it almost every year to catch up with former friends and coworkers.

He enjoyed his getaway place at Lake Erie, boating, fishing, family, and friends. He was a member of Howard United Methodist Church, helping with handyman jobs and serving the Lord. He and Vivian had a love for traveling in the United States and internationally. He loved going to auctions and sales. He loved cars and owned a 1928 Whippet, a 1933, 5-window Ford Coupe, and 1940 Ford convertible as well as several 1965 Mustangs.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2024, and 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024, until the time of Marvin's funeral at 11 a.m., all at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay. His niece, Pastor Cynthia Morrison, will officiate and interment will follow at Zion Bloom Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to either Howard United Methodist Church or Crawford United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank Sunrise Assisted Living and Bridge Hospice for their wonderful care.

He will definitely be missed. We remember him as a very kind man and always had a smile on his face. We will miss him up at Lake Erie.
