Mario Herrera Obituary

Mario R. Herrera

Mario R. Herrera, age 59, of Findlay, joined our Lord, at 3:50 am on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at his residence. He was born on October 24, 1962, in Fremont, Ohio to the late Rafael and Celia (Amaya) Herrera. He married Irma Ysasi on May 10, 1986 and she survives.

Also surviving are his sons: Nathan (Ann) Herrera of Indianapolis and Jordan (Kayla) Herrera of Bluffton, Ohio; brother, Benji (Lisa) Herrera of Jenera, Ohio; sisters: Norma (Rick) Gonzalez of Findlay and Emma (Jeff) Arnett of Rawson; 3 grandchildren: Luka, Jude and Declyn.

Mario, also known as Abo, could be found most days sitting outside enjoying the fresh air and the crisp breeze with his best friend Oli. Mario found any opportunity he could to spend his time playing with his grandkids, camping, hunting, and/or fishing. Mario was an avid sports fan, supporting the following: The Ohio State Buckeyes, Seattle Seahawks, NASCAR, Canelo Alverez of Boxing, and WWE with his children. On vacation, Mario could spend hours in a flea market making sure to stop and look at everything while buying nothing at the same time. Mario was the type of guy who would be willing to help anyone for anything at any point for any reason. Mario will be missed dearly by his friends and family but his hard work and tenacious love for his family will be carried on by his survivors. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.

Visitation will be held at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home in Findlay on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 3-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church Downtown on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10:00am. Father Peter Grodi will officiate and interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.

The Herrera family would like to send a Big Thank you to The James Cancer Hospital at the Ohio State University for their generous care over the past ten years. They refused to give up and it showed in Mario's fighting spirit. The Herrera family would also like to give a big Thank You to all those who were Team Herrera. Your support was something that Mario felt until his final breath.
