Marilyn Jean Patterson

Marilyn Jean "Jeannie" Patterson, 92, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. She was born July 16, 1932, to the late Arthur Brooks and Olive Viola (Oram) Wagner in McComb. Marilyn married John K. Patterson Sr. on August 21, 1948. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing November 30, 2008.

Marilyn is survived by a son, John K. and Connie J. (Bennett)Patterson Jr. of Findlay; four grandchildren, Winnie Boyd, Jennifer J. (Shawn) Howard, Holly A. (Isaac) Miller and John K. Patterson III; and 15 great-grandchildren, with whom she enjoyed spending the holidays this year. She is also survived by her sisters, Alverta M (John) Landis, of Costa Mesa, California and Carol (Jerry) Hauserman, of Crossville, Tennessee; and her brothers, Donnie (Carolyn) Wagner, of Ashland and Jimmy (Julie) Wagner of Leesburg, Florida.

Besides her parents and her husband; Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Jean; and her son-in-law, Neil McGinley.

Marilyn enjoyed collecting dolls and at one time she had a goal to own a doll shop. She loved collecting Beanie Babies, in fact her grandchildren nicknamed her "Grandma Beanie". In her younger years she enjoyed crocheting and traveling to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, in the Great Smoky Mountains, as well as trips to Cedar Point to ride rides and suntan on the beach. Holidays with her family were always her favorite especially Easter, when she made Easter Baskets for all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marilyn worked at RCA retiring after 33 years. She has been a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church since 1952.

A private family visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, with a private funeral service at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home at 12 p.m.. A private graveside service at Trinity Baptist Memorial Gardens, C.R. 236, Findlay, Ohio 45840 (Behind Trinity Baptist Church).
