Marilyn Jean Frances Kerr

Marilyn Kerr, 86, of Findlay, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 17, 2023.

Marilyn Jean Frances Elder was born Dec. 8, 1936, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of Hugh and Frances (Laskey) Elder. She married Doug Kerr on May 3, 1958, at Notre Dame Basilica, Montreal, and together, they enjoyed 64 years of marriage.

She is survived by her four sons, Doug (Cathy) of Greenville, South Carolina, Ken (Missy) of Cincinnati, Ron (Kathy) of Columbus, and Andy (Angie) of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren, Eric of Cincinnati, Ian (Bethany) and Teddy (Mary-Kaye), both of Cincinnati, Spencer of Chicago, Illinois, Katie of Louisville, Libby of Chicago, Illinois, and Alex and Sam, both of Cincinnati; and sister, Heather Dufour of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Marilyn lived in Findlay since 1965 and during that time contributed many hours of service to others in the community. As a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, she was a communion distributor, served on the school board, and was part of the Bereavement ministry. She also gave many years of service to Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary, having served on the Board and was President for three years. She was a Hospice volunteer after she had worked for them as a social worker. She was a life member of United States Sail & Power Squadrons, Meridian Club, Marathon Bridge League, Bridge-A-Round, and Duplicate Bridge Group at Findlay Country Club.

Above all, Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted friend. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially their many years boating on Lake Erie and in later years vacations at Norris Lake.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at Kirkpatrick & Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay.

Mass of Christian burial will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, with Msgr. Michael Hohenbrink officiating. Marilyn will be buried at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, Bridge Home Health & Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, or charity of your choice.

Doug, Ken, Ron, Andy and family. I'll always remember your Mom's laugh, her smile and, of course, the way she picked on your Dad. Although she may be gone physically, her spirit lives on in the voice you hear in your heart every day.
