She is survived by four children and their spouses, Thomas C. Especially to Betsy, former GS of my mom, Claire Davis, and all of Marian´s family. Claire sure was a fan of your mom! The LWV connection and GS were Both strong. Claire and Joe visited numerous times with your parents enroute to visit us in So. Fla. They shared many wonderful times. Sorry for your loss. RIP.

I loved reading Marion Lowry's obit. She was a force for good in the community, wasn´t she? She is the reason Students Voting For Democracy (SVFD), Henderson County's League of Women Voters' interactive civics education program, hosted by Henderson County Public Schools, ever got started in 2014. Marion guided and supported us all along the way as we worked to reach more students. She handled all the details from a state fund and donated to Henderson County Foundation SVFD fund with her own funding, too. She handled all the communications with Kids Voting for the first three elections in 2014, 16, and 18. She was in her 90´s when she finally retired. Thousands of kids K-12 in HCPS got to practice voting because of her. Marion filled so many needs! What an impressive job she has done on her little piece of the planet.

I always looked up to Marian and appreciated her enthusiasm for LWV, and it seem this just extended to life in general. A few years ago, we worked on a project together and she had me out to lunch at Carolina Village. She was very persistent and we finally accomplished what we had hoped to do. I appreciate all she did for our community. To all of her children and grandchildren, I am sorry for your loss and extend deepest sympathy. Mary Garrison
