Margaret Louise "Peg" (Haley) Malloy
Margaret "Peg" Malloy, 89, of Findlay, passed away at 6:03 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital of Findlay surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 16, 1934, in Findlay, to Earl and Agnes (Vermillion) Haley.
She married William R. "Bill" Malloy on May 1, 1954, and he he survives. Peg is also survived by her children, Michael (Gail) Malloy of Findlay, Cynthia (Ray) Ford of Findlay, and Melissa (David) LaRocco of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Tyler (Danielle Ries and daughter Mariah) Ford, Haley Ford, and Xavier and Arabella Ramirez; sister-in-law, Margaret Waxler; brother-in-law, James Lavrich; and cousins, nieces, nephews, and longtime friends who cherish her memory.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents; and infant sister, Helen Marie Haley.
Peg graduated from Findlay High School in 1954. She worked as an executive secretary for the Glessner Company, worked for Findlay City Schools, and retired as Executive Director of Grand Court Assisted Living in Findlay. She and her husband were also the former owners and operators of Malloy's Restaurant and Catering Service in Findlay.
Peg was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Leo Councilettes, and Blanchard Valley Auxiliary, volunteering with Twigs. While raising a family, she was a member of the Child Conservation League, Den Mother for The Boy Scouts, and Leader for Blue Birds and Camp Fire Girls. She volunteered for many activities her children participated in, stressing education and prayer as an important focus to enriching their lives. Peg loved supporting her children and grandchildren as an audience member or as a fan in the stands or through various fundraisers and was an inspiration to them as she installed family values, traditions, and beliefs. Family was so important to her that she continued to host family gatherings for birthdays, holidays, and whatever reason she could find to bring the family together even including hosting Christmas 2023 weeks before her death.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, with Father Melwyn Menezes as celebrant. Additional visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, for family and friends at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
Peg's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Sharon Cole at Armes Cancer Center in Findlay, Dr. Claire Verschraegen, MD, at The Multimodality Clinic at The James, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Blanchard Valley Hospital 4th Floor, and Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, for their loving care to Peg and their support to her family during her final weeks.
