Lois Anne Yoder

Lois Anne (Hilkert) Yoder, 87, entered into Eternal Life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023.

Lois was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Findlay, to the late Chester O. and Zelma N. (Lafferty) Hilkert.

She is survived by three sons, Jonathan R. (Kim), Timothy L. (Pamela), and Gary D. (Rene); beloved sister, Rose DeVore; grandchildren, Jeremy Yoder, Jason (Logan) Yoder, Kalieb Yoder, Ethan (Monica) Yoder, Meghan (Brian) Brinker, Trent (Kaylee) Yoder, Jeremy (Brooke) Cotterman, Josh Cotterman, and James Cotterman; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, David Paul Yoder; and siblings, Robert Hilkert and Ruth Anne Dray.

Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Lois married Dave on Aug. 6, 1955. and the couple moved to Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, after retiring from owning and operating David Yoder and Sons Roofing and Siding and Frosti-Bite Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop, both in Findlay.

Lois was a church and choir member at Calvary Baptist Church, Findlay, and later Fellowship Baptist Church of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. Lois and Dave enjoyed traveling, riding their Honda Gold Wing, sitting on their deck watching birds, golfers, and most importantly, enjoying each other's company. Lois never knew a stranger. She was quick to talk about Jesus and share His love with anyone she came in contact with. Lois was affectionately referred to as "mom," not only by her own children, but many that she would lovingly take under her wing. Lois will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

"What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see, and I look upon His face, The one who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand and leads me through the Promised Land, what a day, glorious day that will be!"

Lois' funeral will be 12 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with family officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
