Linda Stevenson Obituary

Linda L. Stevenson

Linda Stevenson passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, July 13, 2025. She was born in Findlay, to Norman and Anna (Christoff) Dehnhoff June 25, 1953.

She graduated from Arcadia High School and then attended Asbury College, where she earned her BA in Education.

She began her teaching career at Hope Temple, where she taught kindergarten, and one of her favorite students was her younger sister, Sarah. She then taught third grade at McComb for several years.

Linda met the love of her life, Dean Stevenson, and they were married June 12, 1982.

Later, Linda worked at Findlay First Assembly of God, first as childcare director, then children's ministry director, and later as church secretary. She next pursued her Master's in Education from Findlay University to return to her true passion, education. She taught at Fostoria Middle School as an English Second Language teacher. After retirement, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and loved being with family, especially her grandchildren.

A devoted Christian, Linda had a deep love for Jesus Christ, which was reflected in her heart for serving others. Whether through teaching, volunteering, or simply offering a kind word, she lived her faith every day and touched many lives with her generosity, compassion, and unwavering belief in the power of love.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Lee Dehnhoff.

Linda will be missed and loved by her surviving husband, Dean, Leipsic; and their children, Sean (Kim) Stevenson, McComb, Christy (Erik) Alfsen, Fort Knox, Kentucky, and Cheri (Adam) Garton, Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Everly (Stevenson), Denali, Haakon, and Anniston (Alfsen), Gemma, Kahlon, and Rylee (Garton). Linda is also survived by her father, Norman Dehnhoff; and sisters, Diane (Michael) Lessig, Arlington, and Sarah (Matt) Rutter, Arcadia; and brothers, Daniel (Kim) Dehnhoff, Findlay, and Timothy Dehnhoff, Baltimore, Maryland.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Hanneman Family Funeral Home, 370 Park Drive South McComb, Ohio, 45858, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Erik Alfsen officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to City Mission of Findlay or a charity of your choice. Linda's legacy of faith, love, and service will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Yesterday

I taught with Linda in McComb for many years and always admired how optimistic and cheerful she was. My son had her in third grade and she was one of his favorite teachers.
My heart goes out to her loved ones. She will be missed.
