Leona Wilcox Obituary
Leona L. Wilcox, 87, of Findlay, left her earthly life and took that special trip to her Heavenly eternal home Thursday Sept. 1, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.
She was born June 3, 1953, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Harold and Clairetta (Colgan) Newland. She graduated from Liberty-Benton School in 1953. Leona married the love of her life, Charles (Bud) Wilcox on June 1, 1958. Charles preceded her in death Nov. 5, 2010.
Leona is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Mike) McKitrick of Findlay; grandchildren, Kendra (Jason) Ruhlen, Cuyler (Hannah) McKitrick, and Kichaela (Harley) Heldman; great-grandchildren, Mason Ruhlen, Kaeleonna Ruhlen, Ellesyn Ruhlen, Ryker McKitrick, Madalon McKitrick, and the soon to be arrival of her third great-grandson; stepgrandson, Gregory (Andrea) Krieger; step great-grandchildren, Madison Krieger, McKinley Krieger, and Zachary Krieger; and stepsister, Karen Sue (Wm) Jones. Leona was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Barbara (Dave) Krieger; and stepfather, Paul Prowant.
Leona attended church in the past at East Foulke Avenue Church of God and First United Brethren Church. Leona loved spending her time with her family and many special friends. She loved camping, traveling, snowmobiling, square dancing, and listening to polka, bluegrass, and country music.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Leona's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022. The service will be conducted by Pastor Chet Conley. Burial will follow at Benton Ridge Cemetery.

Leona is going to be missed by her family and many friends. But the memories we all made with her will fill our minds and hearts and comfort us.
