Leon D. Smith

Leon D. Smith, 74, of Findlay, passed away Saturday June 11, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

Leon was born Jan. 29, 1948, to Harry and Vera (Breitigam) Smith. He married Shelly Butler on Jan. 29, 1982, in Van Buren, and she survives in Findlay.

Leon is also survived by three children, Leanna (Dale) Sortor, Lindsey (Tony) Young, and Cindy (Tim) Brown, all of Findlay; three grandchildren, Adrianne, Ashlynn, and Gretchen; three siblings, Robert (Sherry) Smith, Carroll (Diane) Smith, and Virginia Langley; and canine companion, Stella.

Leon worked for Findlay Publishing Company as a delivery driver and proudly served his country in U.S. Army. He formerly owned and operated County Acres Auto Sales. Leon enjoyed traveling to Amish Country and Pigeon Forge. He also enjoyed woodworking, doing puzzles, and listening to country music and to 50s and 60s rock-n-roll. Leon was a hardworking and willing to help anyone in a time of need.

Per Leon's request, there will be no service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio, 45840.

Memorial contributions may be made in Leon's honor to Hancock County Humane Society.
