Lena Jefferies Obituary
Lena Irene Jefferies, 92, of Findlay, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. She was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Lewisburg, Ohio, the daughter of the late Russell and Emma (Cummins) Loxley. She married Donald R. Jeffries on May 24, 1952, and he preceded her in death April 27, 2011.
Survivors include a son, Kurt Jefferies of Findlay; daughter, Ann (Michael) Schummer of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Niki Jefferies; and great-grandchild, Emma Duff.
Lena was a legal secretary for various law offices in the Findlay area. She was also a 66-year member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Findlay. Her other interests included YMCA, Aquatic Exercises at the Hampton Inn, Gathering Basket Herb Society, and Hook Needle Group. Lena volunteered her time with Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary for many years and with Hancock County Elections Board.
A celebration of life service will be scheduled for a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to Kidney Foundation. COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, assisted family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.coldrencrates.com.

I first met Lena when our daughters, Nicki and Kathie Hoy entered high school together. Nicki was such a sweet, talented girl. I have seen Lena often at the Hospital Thrift Shop. I have always admired and liked Lena. I know she will be sorely missed. Our sympathies to the family.

Kurt and Family, Please accept our sincere sympathy on the passing of Lena. Our dear friend, Peg Scothorn, introduced us to Lena. Lena sent us a Christmas card every year with a special note, gave us plants from her landscaping, and shared our love of music. She was an unbelievable looking ninety-year old at her 90th birthday party, greeting everyone with her gracious personality. Love to all. Marilyn & Ron Heldman
