Lawrence P. "Pat" Dunbrack
Lawrence P. "Pat" Dunbrack, 78, of Arlington, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
He was born March 30, 1944, in Radford, Virginia, the son of the late Willie P. and Merita (Humphries) Dunbrack. He married the prettiest girl in the room, Judith F. Leek, on June 11, 1966, and she preceded him in death Feb. 28, 2019. He had a great childhood in Virginia and often told stories of his times there. His teenage years brought his family to Berea where he meet his future wife and spent 52 years with her.
Pat's survivors include his son, Patrick (Stephanie) Dunbrack of Pataskala; daughters, Shannon (Mark) Goulding of Wellington and Jennifer (Don) Rossman of Arlington; five grandchildren, Zach (Triniti), Kaitlynn (Renatta), Morgan, Emma, and Ellie; great-grandchildren, Monroe, and one on the way; sister, Sue (Bob) Gircsis of Medina; and sister-in-law, Fay Sliwa of Berea.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Berkley Dunbrack.
"Pat" or "Tex" as some may have known him, was a retired meat cutter and never missed a day of work in over 40 years. He and his girl retired on the same day and walked hand in hand out the store door. He raised his family with the example of hard work where he was also a volunteer fire fighter and youth football and baseball coach. He loved cars and could tell you the make and model of any car. He collected toy cars and firetrucks of his youth and loved to golf a number of times a week in retirement. Pat had a great singing voice and enjoyed listening to Wynonna, Elvis, Charlie Rich, and any classic country song. He loved cards and his many animals, along with telling stories that were slightly embellished each time they were told. Most of all, he loved his family and grandchildren who will miss him greatly. They take comfort in knowing he is with his pretty girl again. He leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. Pat's funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Ramsey officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
