Larry Lynn Watson
Larry Lynn Watson of Upper Sandusky, formerly of Wharton, passed away peacefully at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Monday evening, September 29, 2025.
Larry leaves behind three daughters, Lyneen (Steve) Reinschell, Carey, Nanette (Jeremy) Mouser, Nevada, and Lisa (Al Pisarski) McCarthy, Chesterton, Indiana, whom he raised with his first wife, Naneen (Bristoll) Kotterman. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Doug (Sarah) Reinschell and their children, Caine and Addison; Candace (Kelby) Weaver and their children, Azryelle, Carington, Kendran, Kamrie and Kace; Lindsey Johns and her children, Dylan and Bailey; and Chance (Arin Tracy) Metzger.
Larry was born in Salem Township, Wyandot County, Ohio, July 18, 1941, to Orville and Roberta (Arnett) Watson, both of whom are deceased.
Larry graduated in 1959 from Wharton High School. He excelled in basketball and would fondly remember classmates and teammates. Larry took a lot of pride in the fact that "little old Wharton" would beat the bigger area schools.
Larry attended Wharton First Church of God. He was a proud lifetime member of NRA and Masonic Lodge 378, as well as a proud Constitutional Conservative.
Larry solved all the world's problems with his family every Sunday afternoon after enjoying delicious fried chicken, homemade biscuits, gravy, green beans, and corn that his mom, Roberta, made for her family faithfully every Sunday.
Larry had a beautiful voice and played the guitar. He loved old Country, Gospel and Bluegrass music and enjoyed going to Bluegrass festivals at Poppy Mountain with his Uncle Bill.
Upon retirement from Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. Findlay, Larry enjoyed yearly charter fishing trips to Lake Erie with his family, drinking a beer or two and smoking a cigar with his neighbors and friends. As an avid reader, he never stopped learning even after being diagnosed with macular degeneration.
Larry was very proud of his four grandchildren and their accomplishments; following them in their younger years in sports, and now in their professions as adults, and the nine great-grandchildren they are raising.
Larry is survived by his wife Elaine; her son, Mark (Michelle) Kimberly and grandson, Chris; sisters, Patricia Satterfield of California and Connie (Henry) Wilcox Guillett, Findlay; and brother, the Rev. Ed (Carol) Watson of Missouri. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive, which he enjoyed getting together with during family reunions.
Larry was preceded in death by his brother, James and sister-in-law, Mary Watson; brother-in-laws, Bob Wilcox and James Satterfield; and nephews, Kevin Watson and Jimmy Watson.
Larry and Elaine spent many years enjoying the beautiful mountains at the home they built in Murphy, North Carolina and winters in Palmetto, Florida.
The family would like to extend deepest gratitude to Wyandot Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department, Oncology Department, Wyandot County EMS, Hospice of Wyandot Memorial, and Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
