Kelly Main Obituary

Kelly Alan Main

Kelly Alan Main, 47, of Milford, formerly of Arlington, passed away at his home Monday, April 21, 2025, from a nine-month health battle. Kelly fought to the very end and is with his Lord and Savior.

Kelly was born January 17, 1978, in Findlay to Pamela (Businger) and David Main. They both survive in Findlay. Kelly is also survived by his sister, Jennifer (Matt) Lambdin; his niece, Emma; and nephew, Tyler of Ada.

Preceding Kelly in death were his grandparents, Harold and Barbara Main, Otho and Dorothy Businger; and two uncles, Michael Businger and Paul Main.

Kelly was a 1996 graduate of Arlington High School. He loved sports and played football, basketball, and baseball for the Red Devils. After high school, he continued playing football and baseball at Defiance College, where he received his degree in education. He always wanted to be a teacher. He was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Browns, Cavs, Indians, and Buckeyes.

After college graduation, Kelly became a teacher at Vanlue High School, where he also coached football and basketball. He also taught at Ridgemont High School and continued to coach football and basketball for the Gophers. While at a basketball camp with his team, he met Jen Winright, and they married July 29, 2006. After the wedding, the couple resided in the Cincinnati area, where Kelly continued teaching and coaching. While Kelly and Jen later divorced, they have two daughters, Mikayla and Kendyll. Both daughters survive in Goshen, Ohio.

During his time in the Cincinnati area, Kelly continued his passion to teach and coach. He coached at Anderson, Milford, Norwood, and Mount Notre Dame. He was a teacher at E.H. Greene since 2007 and finished his coaching career at Sycamore High School, where he will be missed.

Kelly married Suzanna Clark March 31, 2019. She survives in Milford with her three children, Ashley, Cameron, and Chloe, to whom he was a father figure, and their three dogs, Dexter, Tiny, and Bitsi.

A gathering of friends and family will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Arlington Cemetery in Arlington. Please dress in your favorite sports attire. Immediately following, all are welcome at Jac & Do's for appetizers and to share memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scholarship Fund in Honor of Kelly Main at any Fifth Third Bank. To honor Kelly's passion for teaching, this scholarship will go to an Arlington High School graduating senior going to college to major in education.
