Judith Bils-Wheeler Obituary

Judith M. Bils-Wheeler

Judith "Judy" Marie (Bils) Wheeler went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, while residing at Fairhaven, Upper Sandusky, from a lengthy illness.

Judy was a graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and Bowling Green State University, where she earned a degree in education. Judy was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord.

Judy was born Jan. 25, 1943, to George and Evelyn (Lodge) Bils. Judy had one brother, Henry A. Bils, who preceded her death. Judy had two sisters-in-law, Nancy K. Bils and Ann C (Beard) Bils, who also preceded her death. Judy had a great-nephew, Hunter Troxel, who also preceded her death.

Judy is survived by two nieces, Laura (Craig) Troxel of Harpster, and her daughter, Kylie Troxel of Columbus, and Susan (R. Kelly) Best of Arlington, and her son, Jacob Best.

Judy was first married to Terry Long, who preceded her death. Mr. Long had three sons who she helped raise. Judy married Clifford Wheeler in May, 1998. Mr. Wheeler preceded her death. Mr. Wheeler's children include, Kelly (Timothy) Loy, Todd (Rebecca) Wheeler, Troy (Jodi) Wheeler, and Jami (Nathan) Riegel.

Judy was a life-long educator and devoted herself to helping children learn and succeed. Judy taught for many decades in Licking County, within the Heath and Newark school districts. When Judy and her husband, Cliff, moved back to Wyandot County, Judy began teaching at St. Peter's School where she taught first grade, assisted with preschool, and the after-school program. Judy truly loved being a part of the school community. Judy was involved in her church, loved music, playing games, socializing, and being with her family. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky. Judy's funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at Transfiguration of the Lord Church, Upper Sandusky.
