Joseph Bish
Joseph Bish, 66, of Findlay, died Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Cleveland Clinic. He was born June 30, 1956, in Findlay, to Cloyd Willard and Theresia Rozna (Borgelt) Bish. On Dec. 5, 1986, he married Andrea Jane (Swisher) Bish.
Joe worked with Findlay Recreational Department, maintaining the Riverside Diamond from a young age, beginning in 1968. He then played baseball with the neighborhood kids at the same diamond. Eventually, he played for numerous men's slow pitch teams, Tonsorium, Genesee Cream Ale, Jac n' Do's Pizza, and FOP. He also managed a slow and fast pitch men's softball team for Jac n' Do's, starting in 1988. Through these friendships and connections, Joe became involved in co-ed slow pitch softball, primarily playing for the Pappy Monday team that won their division in Ohio in 1988, 1989, and 1990. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, having full sets of Topps cards from 1956 through 2020. He also loved to cook. His favorite saying was "If you leave my house hungry, it's YOUR fault!" In the fall, Notre Dame Football was his constant passion. He went to at least one home game a year from the age of 7 until 2020. He still has the programs and tickets stubs. Joe was a Boy Scout who achieved the Order of the Arrow. He started working at Jac n' Do's Pizza on Trenton Ave. when he was still in high school. Then he moved on to Frueh's Bakery until 1991. He returned to Jac n' Do's a few times. He also worked a short time at Best Buy Distribution Center. Joe also ran the sideline markers at Findlay High School home football games.
