John William Bill Rose

John William "Bill" Rose, 84, of Arlington, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Bill was born at home in Wyandot County July 5, 1940, to John William and Janet (Lane) Rose. He graduated from Wharton High School in 1958. On October 11, 1959, Bill married Helen Wolber, and she survives, along with a son, Scott William (Eldeen) Rose of Findlay; and a daughter, Cindy Lynn (David) Shearer of Franklin. He is also survived by his brother, Jim (Sue) Rose of Mt. Blanchard; sister, Kay Myers of Findlay; grandchildren, William Paul (Laura Simon) Rose, Derek John Rose, Kristen (Zach) Diesburg, Kim (Mike) Brienza, Katie (Clay) Cox; two great-grandsons, Sam and Leon; sister-in-law, Sue Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Rose; sister, Patricia (Keith) Thompson; and brother-in-law, Ron Myers.

Bill retired from Arlington Local Schools, where he was the head of maintenance. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Findlay, where he and Helen volunteered for Builders for Christ and traveled all around the country. He coached junior high girls' basketball for several years. Bill loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He loved to talk and tell stories. Bill also served on several area boards, including Hancock County Ag Society and Arlington Elevator.

Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Bob Krueger officiating. Burial will follow in Williamstown Cemetery.
