John McVetta Obituary

John W. "Bill" McVetta

John "Bill" W. McVetta, 85, passed away September 6, 2025, at his residence in Mt. Cory. Bill was born May 7, 1940, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late John and Lois June (Nonnamaker) McVetta. He married Rita K. Ranking, June 4, 1966, and they enjoyed 52 happy years together before her passing March 2, 2019.

Bill was a 1958 graduate of Cory-Rawson High School and was a farmer for over 40 years. He was a little on the wild side and had many hobbies, including playing pool, golfing, and racing pigeons. His favorite hobby was hunting arrowheads and Indian relics for 65 years. Bill and his wife, Rita, attended Mt. Cory Church of Faith.

Survivors include three sons, Nick (Nola) McVetta of Findlay, Bryan McVetta of Mt. Cory, and Ryan McVetta of Mount Cory; two great-grandchildren, Masen Breyman and Emmalese McVetta and a brother, Robert (Darlene) McVetta of Mt. Cory.

Bill was preceded in death by two grandsons, Marcus Moser and Dylan McVetta.

Bill's family would like to thank Bridge Home Health & Hospice for their care of Bill.

The memorial service will be private.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Mt. Cory Church of Faith.
