John Hawkins Obituary
John David "JD" Hawkins, 38, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at his home in Cleveland, Tennessee. Close family members were with him.
He was born in Cleveland, Tennessee, to John Dennis and Willa Ann (Copus) Hawkins.
JD is survived by his mother, Willa Ann (Copus) Hawkins of Cleveland, Tennessee; brother, Joshua D. Hawkins of Knoxville, Tennessee; niece and nephew, Josephine (Josie) and Jett Hawkins, who had a special place in JD's heart; sister, Brooke (Charles) Wines of North Carolina; niece and nephew, Kelsey and Heath Wines; brother, Sang Hak Han of Seoul, South Korea; aunt, Diana Shroy of Columbus and children; uncles, H. Douglas (Kathy) Copus and boys, David (Carolyn) Copus and boys; aunt, Janna (Chad) Richards and children, all of Findlay; and uncle, William Hawkins and family of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Hawkins; and paternal grandparents, John Samuel Hawkins and Johnnie Ruth Crump; and maternal grandparents, Harold T. and Wilmetta June (Bruce) Copus of Findlay.
JD was a graduate of Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was most recently employed by LifeCare Centers of America corporate offices in Cleveland for over 15 years working in Corporate Services and Security Systems.
JD enjoyed many outdoor activities, but was most happy spending time with family and helping others in any way he could.
Visitation will be 12-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, followed by a family-only service led by Brent Shroy to begin at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Bechtel Cemetery with Bishop Terry McBeath officiating.
In lieu of flowers, JD requested memorials be made in his memory to those in need.
