John Fulcher Obituary

John Kenneth Fulcher

John Kenneth Fulcher, 66, of Findlay, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2024.

He was born April 5, 1957, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Richard and Lucy (Chiarella) Fulcher. He married Jean Kyle on July 18, 1981, in Akron, and she preceded him in death Nov. 17, 2016. He then married Becky Myers on May 26, 2019, in Findlay.

John is survived by his wife, Becky; mother, Lucy; daughter, Katherine (Kevin) Kline of Dublin, Ireland; son, Michael (Krysten) Fulcher of North Saint Paul, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Finn, Mallory, John, Marie, and Paul; brothers, Richard (Pat) Fulcher and Mark (Lina) Fulcher; sister, Mary Lou (Steve) Focht; mothers-in-law, Mary Ann Kyle and Kay Myers; brothers-in-law, Edward (Holly) Kyle, Matthew (Kimberly) Myers, Jeromie Myers; and sister-in-law, Heather (Thad) Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; father, Richard; and fathers-in-law, Dr. John Kyle and Ronald Myers.

John had a technical mind, goofy sense of humor, and big heart. He held a BS in Metallurgy from University of Notre Dame and Masters in Engineering from University of Chicago. John was a manufacturing engineer for multiple companies before coming to Findlay where he was a beloved face at the Whirlpool plant for many years. John showed love and care to all he encountered. As a father, he coached every sport and always helped his children with school projects. He was a dedicated math teacher through Owens Community College, creating off-the-wall word problems to keep his students and himself entertained. When his wife of 35 years, Jean, became ill, John became her dedicated caregiver until her passing. He had an incredibly joy-filled last five years with his beloved wife, Becky. Following retirement, John began meticulously tracing family history, sharing intricate and intriguing stories of ancestors' past. He was tickled by pink lawn flamingos and yellow VW Bugs.

John was passionate about his family, always wanting to make everyone around him laugh. For many years, he took time to travel with Becky to Europe, Iceland, Canada, and the Caribbean, oftentimes meeting Kate and Kevin. John and Becky also enjoyed special visits to Minnesota to spend time with their grandchildren, toting novel treats, books, and toys to share with them.

Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, and 12 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, until the time of Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Rd., Findlay.
