John Paul Cole

John Paul Cole, 84, of Arlington, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center. John was born October 11, 1941, in Findlay, to the late Russell and Faye (Schlaack) Cole. He married Sandra "Sandy" Higley, October 20, 1962, and she preceded him in death August 26, 2018.

John Paul is survived by his son, Scott (Julie) Cole, Medina; daughters, Shelly (James) Heacock, Arlington and Nanette (Philip) Eonta, Bluffton, South Carolina; sister, Jeanette Cooper, Arlington; grandchildren, Mitch Heacock, Morgan Wetherill, Mackenzie Heacock, Evan Pucci, Alexis Warren, Josh Cole, Chelsea Cole, Anthony Eonta, Michael Eonta, and Francesca Somma; and great-grandchildren, Ava, Lucas, Addy, Hadley, Harlow, Mila, Leo, Dominic, Annilyse, Sloane, and Charlie.

John Paul retired from Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. in 1999. He was a lifelong member of Bible Fellowship Church and a former board member. He loved to hunt pheasants in South Dakota and deer in Ohio. He enjoyed spending time farming, woodworking, and fishing at Joslin Lake. John was a graduate of Arlington High School, class of 1959, and a proud supporter of the football program.

The family has entrusted CRATES FUNERAL HOME with arrangements.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at Bible Fellowship Church. There will also be one hour of visitation, 10-11 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Bible Fellowship Church, with Pastor Jerry Kellogg officiating. Private burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Bridge Hospice Care Center or Bible Fellowship Church.
