Joe Blem Obituary
Joe Leroy Blem, 87, of Arlington, passed away at 4:04 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
Joe was born Nov. 6, 1936, in Williamstown, Ohio, to Dwight and Jesse Belle (Patterson) Blem.
He married Barbara Jo Weidinger on June 9, 1956, and she preceded him in death May 25, 2020.
Joe is survived by three children, Debra J. (Thomas) Norway, David J. (Diana) Blem, and Tiffany A. Blem; grandchildren, Sara (Daniel) Cambotti Cali, Jacob (Carly) Cambotti, Kelsey (Austin) Norway Michel, Victoria (James) Uttley, and Nathan (Abigail) Norway; and great-grandchildren, Marin Murphy, Frankie Cali, Lucille and Evelyn Michel, and Liam and Emmy Norway.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert J. (Tina) Blem; daughter, Rebecca A. Blem in 1983; sister-in-law, Patricia A. Weidinger; and two brothers, Jack and Jerry Blem.
Joe was a graduate of Arlington High School. Joe met the love of life, Barb, while she was working at Wilson's Hamburger Shop in Findlay. He worked as a pilot and sales manager for Werk-Brau Co. Inc. of Findlay for many years. He was a member of Central Ohio Soaring Association, Hancock County Chapter of Pheasants Forever, and Broken Bird Gun Club.
Visitation for family and friends will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024, and 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, until the time of Joe's funeral at 1 p.m., all at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio, 45840. The Rev. Gregg King will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Findlay.
Memorials can be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, or Humane Society and SPCA of Hancock County, 4550 Fostoria Avenue, Findlay, Ohio, 45840.
