Joanne Marie Larsen

Joanne Marie Larsen, 69, of Findlay, passed on to God's glory at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at her home after a long period of illness.

She was born June 2, 1954, in Tiffin, to Howard E. and Mary Jane (Doran) Zirger. Joanne married Don R. Larsen on Sept. 4, 1982, in Findlay, and he survives.

Joanne is also survived by her son, David (Jackie) Larsen of Westerville; and two grandchildren, Juliette and Deacon Larsen.

Joanne was a graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School and attended Tiffin University, receiving her degree of Executive Secretarial in 1981. She worked as a secretary/office manager with employers including Marathon Oil Company and First Lutheran Church. Reading, scrapbooking, craft making, decorating, and flowers were a passion of Joanne's and her love of travel fed those hobbies. Over the years she, with Don and often with other family, visited 48 states, most of the Canadian provinces, many Caribbean countries, and Europe. More recently, Joanne so enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and communicating with friends and family.

Joanne was a beacon of light to those she would meet. She was a wonderful companion and life mate to her husband, great mother, treasured daughter, loving and adoring Mimi to her grandchildren, and great friend to many. She will be sorely missed, but her long time of suffering with various chronic health issues is now over and she can rest in the arms of Jesus, her Savior.

As per Joanne's wishes, there will be no public services.
