Joan Montgomery Obituary
Joan Parker Montgomery, 75, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
Joan was born Sept. 16, 1947, in St. Marys, to Bernie L. and N. Jane (Rader) Parker. She was married to Jerry Wieman. She then married Gene Montgomery on Sept. 6, 1975, and he survives.
Joan was a 1965 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys. She was a member of Riley Creek Baptist Church and retired from Mennonite Memorial Home after 25 years of dedication. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and enjoyed going out to dinner with her husband. She loved all of her family, especially her grandchildren and her special friend, Jane, the cat.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Montgomery of Mount Cory; three children, Jerry (Carrie) Wieman of Rawson, Holly (Jeff Jarvis) Wieman of Shawnee, and Jina (Miah) Badertscher of Ada; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (John) Montgomery, Garrett (Adrienne) Wieman, Paige (Kyle) Wagner, Taylor (Bronson) Dennison, R.J. Edwards, Jillian (River) Schafer, and Brady Diehl; seven great-grandchildren and two on the way; and sister, Jill Snow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Melissa Stacey; and three siblings, Jim Parker, Jack Parker, and Jane Lynch.
Joan's services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor David Lanquist will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the funeral home.
The family asks that those in attendance to please wear jeans.
They also would like to extend a special thanks to Bridge Hospice Care for their dedication and care during such a difficult time.
Memorial contributions may be made to The City Mission or Bridge Hospice Care Center.
