Joan Dailey Obituary
Joan Colleen Dailey, 92, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
Jo was born June 13, 1929, in Bluffton, to Hiram and Martha (Augsburger) Burkholder. Jo married James Dailey on July 17, 1949, and he preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2014.
Jo graduated from Bluffton High School and attended Bluffton College. She worked at Triplett Corporation, Bluffton, and later worked as a secretary at Bluffton College. Jo also worked at the family owned and operated business, Southgate Lanes, Bluffton. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, and was one of the founding members of Mother's Night Out Club, Bluffton Senior Citizens, and Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary. Jo enjoyed reading, puzzles, and baking pies and cookies.
Jo's survivors include three children, John (Judy) Dailey of Bluffton, Dan (Sharon) Dailey of Findlay, and Beth (Wayne) Diamond of Bluffton; 10 grandchildren, Wendy (Ashley) Diamond-Jerew, B.J. (Elizabeth) Diamond, Jason (Donna) Dailey, Joel (Darci) Dailey, Mike (Nicole) Dailey, Tom Wiggins, Brad (Jessica) Dailey, Clint (Mackayla Wilson) Dailey, Darby (Jen) Benroth, and Jori (Ryan) Shoemaker; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and sister, Jean Reichenbach of Bluffton.
Jo was also preceded in death by two brothers, David E. Burkholder and Donald H. Burkholder.
Jo's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton, with Pastor Jeff Boehr officiating.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary.
