Jimmie Thomas Obituary
Jimmie Lee Thomas, 87, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
Jimmie was affectionately known as 'Papa Honey' by his great-grandkids. He was born December 31, 1938, in McComb, to the late William Cecil and Jennie (Nye) Thomas. He graduated from Findlay High School. Jimmie married the love of his life, Dorothy "Jeannie" Simon, September 15, 1956, and they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. Jeannie survives.
Jimmie is also survived by his children, Charles (Cathy) Thomas, Julie (William) Davidson, Deb (Robert) Oswald, and Kim (Jim) Janes; nine grandchildren, Christopher Thomas, Ryan (Amy) Thomas, Joshua (Courtney) Thomas, Billy Roy (Anne) Davidson, Kelly Keller, Tracy (Jim) Kimmet, Jeff (Krissy) Janes, John Janes, and Trisha Janes; 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Linda Doolittle and Jean McGuire; and sister-in-law, Mary Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Thomas and Connie McDowell; brothers-in-law, Leon McDowell, Chuck McGuire and Bill Doolittle; sister-in-law, Betty Thomas; and grandson-in-law, Andrew Keller.
Jimmie worked as a postal carrier for USPS and for Whirlpool Co., and as a member of Hancock County Sheriff's Auxiliary. He enjoyed traveling the US by motorcycle with his wife, coin collecting, and was a puzzle master. Jimmie was a kind person and truly loved his family. But most of all, he adored his wife, Jeannie, his 'honey'.
Jimmie was a true good man. He will be sorely missed by those who loved him.
A special thanks to grandson, Johnny, for taking such good care of Jimmie.
Funeral Service for Jimmie will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026, with two hours of visitation beginning at 11 a.m., all at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Burial will follow the service at McComb Union Cemetery.
Memorial contribu-tions may be made in Jimmie's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or Department of Veterans Affairs.
