Jesse Cox Obituary

Jesse Cox III

Jesse Guy Cox III, 76, of Vanlue, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Jesse was born February 15, 1949, in La Junta, Colorado, to the late Jesse and Dora (Evans) Cox II. He married the love of his life, Erma Hackworth, May 4, 1974, and she survives in Vanlue. Also surviving is his son, Lonnie Cox.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Ruth and Janice.

Jesse worked at Atlas Crankshaft and then was a truck driver for 12 years. He then returned to Atlas and once they closed, went to work at Sears and Lowe's.

Jesse proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a deeply patriotic man. He was a member of Sager Lodge No. 513 F & AM and was also a member of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of the Valley of Toledo, where he received his 32nd Degree.

A talented woodworker, he crafted many beautiful pieces of furniture that reflected his skill and dedication. He enjoyed spending his time fishing and golfing, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Jesse was known for his honesty, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need. He was a good man whose strength of character and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.

Graveside service will be at a later date at Zion Bloom Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made in Jesse's honor to American Cancer Society.
