Jeffery Lynn Baney

Jeffery Lynn Baney, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Born November 17, 1957, Jeff lived a life full of love, music, and devotion to family. He married Melissa Miller, January 5, 1980. Although they divorced in 2014, they maintained an everlasting friendship. He had a heart that beat to the rhythm of rock and roll; one of his favorite songs, "Spirit in the Sky", was a perfect reflection of his joy, faith, and free spirit. A lifelong fan of KISS, he shared his love for music with everyone he met, turning ordinary moments into memories set to the soundtrack of his favorite tunes.

Some of Jeff's favorite activities and memories included vacationing in Michigan as a kid with his sisters, mushroom hunting, watching NASCAR, and, of course, drinking beer.

Above all, Jeff treasured his family and friends. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the lights of his life. After retiring from Whirlpool, he spent a lot of his time on Facebook playing games and connecting with his Findlay graduating class of 1976.

He is survived by children, Dallas (Dan) Sommers and Austin Baney; grandchildren, Savannah (Josh) Shuck, Albaney Turner, Brooklyn Turner, and Ezra Baney; great-grandchildren, Ryker, Creed, and Kalliope; sisters, Jill (Eric) Shapiro and Judy (Greg)Trunzo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Max Baney and Mary Ann Schaller.

A celebration of Jeff's life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2025 at The Hideaway Lounge, 1730 Lima Ave. Findlay. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories and honor his life with love, music and beer, just as he would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you play "Spirit in the Sky" a little louder and remember Jeff with a smile.
