Jeannette G. Boyce
Jeannette G. Boyce, 90, of Carey, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehab, surrounded by her loving family.
Jeannette was born November 19, 1935, in Toledo, to the late Ernest and Hattie (Bosworth) Himmler. She married Charles E. Boyce, October 7, 1953 in Auburn, Indiana, and he preceded her in death March 26, 2002. Jeannette is survived by her children, Karen (Ken) Lortz, Linda (Dale) Thompson, Michael Boyce, Alice (Martin) Hennessy, and Jennifer (Matt) Toland; grandchildren, Kendra (Brian) Lenz, Kyle (Nichole) Lortz, Kristen (Jeff) Price, Paige (Corey) Smith, Lauren (Joe) Fuller, Kayla (Monn) Robert, Cee Cee Park, JT (Ashlie) Benoit, Clayton Boyce Fahl and Jonathan (Rebecka) Fahl; 21 great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Rosie Boyce; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Himmler and her daughter-in-law, Maryann Boyce.
Jeannette was a 1953 graduate of Findlay High School. Jeannette had many jobs in her life. She worked at National Automotive Fiber, RCA, The Handle Factory, L & K Restaurant, Carey Schools and Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab. She was a faithful member of Carey Memorial Evangelical Church (formerly Memorial United Methodist Church), where she was active in United Methodist Women's Club and held many offices. She was also a member of Horn Blowers Club and was a Girl Scout leader. Jeannette was the beloved founder of Carey Food Pantry and a tireless advocate for her community. Kind, positive, and deeply civic-minded, she lived her life in service to others, always looking for ways to nurture those around her. Jeannette truly never met a stranger. Every person was welcomed with openness, compassion, and respect.
Known as a "mom" to all, Jeannette made everyone feel at home. There was always room at her table, both literally and in her heart. Her love for people guided her actions and inspired countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on the community she cared for so deeply.
Jeannette lived by the Golden Rule through the lives she touched, the generosity she modeled, and the enduring mission of Carey Food Pantry. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her belief in people, and her extraordinary ability to make the world feel more welcoming to everyone.
Visitation for Jeannette will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Carey Memorial Evangelical Church, 229 E. Findlay St.,
Carey, Ohio 43316. Jeannette's Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the church, with Pastor Cynthia Morrison officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeannette's honor to Carey Food Pantry or Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehab Activities Department.
