Jean M. Barrett

Jean M. Barrett, 89, of Rawson, passed in the comfort of her own home Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022. She was born Feb. 28, 1933, in Findlay, to Ralph E. Zellers and Ruth C. Saltz.

Jean married William H. Barrett on Dec. 31, 1955, and together, they had four children. When their youngest was older, she rejoined the workforce. Jean cooked and baked for the students of Cory-Rawson Local Schools for many years, but she also worked at Theatrical Accessories and A-Z Meats. Jean loved knitting, sewing, and quilting, but above all, she loved her family. They were her pride and joy.

Jean is survived by her husband; sons, William J. (Marlene) Barrett of Van Buren and Jerry L. (Theresa) Barrett of Leonard, Michigan; daughters, Wanda J. Huffman of Findlay and Christine L. (David) Woodward of Findlay; grandchildren, Joshua Barrett, Megan (Daniel) Dahms, Alicia (Melissa) Barrett, Nicholas Barrett, AJ Huffman, Jacob Huffman, Storm Woodward, Jaden Woodward, and Brenden Woodward; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marjorie (Paul) Hamlin of Findlay, Carol Hingson of Findlay, Norma Smith of Findlay, and Becky Burgard of Mt. Blanchard.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Anthony Barrett; and her parents.

Family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 205 West Sandusky Street, Findlay, with a prayer of the rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, with Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Elm Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
