Janice Ickes

Janice Ickes, 76, of Bairdstown, died at 6:45 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2025, at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore. She was born April 17, 1949, in Findlay, to the late Eugene and Joan (Blakley) Huether. She married Jerry Ickes, and they were divorced.

Janice is survived by her son, Shanon (Denise, deceased) Ickes of Bairdstown; daughters, Kandy (James) Pixley of Hammansburg and Sherry Whitmore of Texas; brothers, Walter Huether of Oklahoma, James Huether of Findlay, Eugene "Bugs" Huether of Findlay and David Blakely of Arlington; sisters, Jacqeline Huether of Findlay, Brenda Beck of Findlay, and Rita Huether of Findlay; and three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her sons, Joseph Ickes and Larry Ickes; brother, Mike Blakely; and sisters, Constance Ish and Ruth Barringer.

Janice was a retired cook. She enjoyed going to car shows and working on puzzles.

Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. prior to service. Pastor Jeff Topping officiating. Burial will be at Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to any veteran's charity of the donor's choice.
