Janet Donaldson Obituary

Janet A. Donaldson

Janet A. Donaldson, 84, of Naples, Florida, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Janet was born in North Baltimore to Levi and Helen Sweebe on November 30, 1940, and graduated from North Baltimore High School in 1958.

In North Baltimore, Janet had a career at the Budd Company where she was a dedicated employee working in the factory to produce automotive components for major car companies.

She married the love of her life, Danny Donaldson, in 1990. They moved from Ohio to Naples, Florida, where she worked as a telephone clerk at Lely Palms Retirement Community. She took pride in her work with her exceptional organizational details and looked forward to going to work every day to be around the people at the facility. Janet was involved with the Red Hat Society social organization, regularly attending functions. She was also an active member of the Methodist church in Naples and groups within the church that helped the community.

Janet enjoyed the sunny climate of Florida, often laying out on the beach, visiting Naples Pier, relaxing on the back porch of her home, and watching the golfers in her community. She was an exceptional cook for her family, visiting friends, and around the holidays with her famous fudge, cookies, and popcorn ball recipes passed down from her mother. In addition, she enjoyed going out with her husband, Danny, to visit restaurants and attractions in the Naples area, golf, watch movies, go shopping, and travel around the country. Janet always put herself second and later in life, she was the ultimate caregiver to Danny and her son, Doak.

She is survived by her brother, Herb Sweebe, of Dublin, Ohio; and grandson, Ian Wright, of Dallas, Texas.

A private farewell for immediate family took place. No other services are scheduled. She will be back with her beloved husband, Danny, at New Maplewood Cemetery in North Baltimore.
